The fall edition of A Tree for My Neighborhood is back for four weeks. The REQ and the Greening Society of Metropolitan Montreal (Soverdi) invite Montrealers to plant trees on their land for
encourage urban biodiversity and increase the vegetation cover of their neighborhood. Until September 27, the owners of a residential lot on the island of Montreal can buy one or more trees for the modest sum of $ 25 for regular trees and $ 35 for fruit trees.
A tree for my neighborhood is part of a global effort to increase the canopy of the island of Montreal as part of the Urban Forest Action Plan. The objective is to densify the urban forest to improve the quality of life and the health of the population.
